Every article on SideMoneyAcademy carries a label that tells you what kind of evidence sits behind it. Here is exactly what each one means.
Hands-on tested
We used the product or ran the process ourselves. A hands-on review states which version or plan we used, when we tested it, what we did with it, and what we could not test. We only use this label when we genuinely have done the work.
Research-based guide
The article is based on our professional experience and on research from primary sources: official documentation, pricing pages, platform policies and reputable publications. We have not necessarily used every tool mentioned. Most of our how-to guides are research-based.
Editorial comparison
We compare options using publicly available information and clear criteria, without claiming to have tested each one in depth.
How we evaluate tools and platforms
- Real cost: the full price you are likely to pay, including fees and add-ons.
- Fit: who it is actually for, and who should avoid it.
- Limitations: what it does badly or not at all.
- Data and lock-in: what happens to your data and how easy it is to leave.
- Date checked: prices and features change, so we note when information was last verified.
What we will never do
- Invent test results, ratings or reviews
- Publish fake testimonials or income claims
- Let an affiliate commission change a verdict
